Typhon Station is a very fastpaced PBeM RPG with skilled, experienced
players and a warm sense of bonding and community. We play at the
turn-of-the-century, 2400, and are located in the Typhon Expanses,
bordering the Neutral Zone, proximate to the Romulan Empire, and near
the Iconian Digs, and are on the first warning route of the original
Borg Incursion.
We have three stations to post from, SB 185, USS Odyssey, and USS
Wraith. They all have general and particular storylines and all
interact. This game is not for the faint of heart! The writing is
superb and comes hot and heavy. We have some open spots and also we
will consider character suggestions. So, longtime RPGers and novices,
check us out. See if you want to make Typhon Station your home away
from home. (0 comments | Add)

TrekWeb has this afternoon delivered the first issue of our new email newsletter, the TrekWeb News Nexus. The monthly newsletter contains all sorts of useful information, from news headline and feature article round-ups to original articles. If you aren't already subscribed, join today!
One special feature just for this premiere issue is an interview with author Eric Stillwell about his new Lincoln Enterprises book, "The Making of 'Yesterday's Enterprise'". In the exclusive article found only in News Nexus, Stillwell told us that the book is ideal for fans looking for an insider's look at writing a STAR TREK episode:
"During my tenure as script coordinator on TNG, I oversaw the open submission policy launched by executive producer Michael Piller. We literally received thousands of speculative teleplays," Still told TrekWeb. "We had to return hundreds of scripts unread for technical reasons -- because the authors had little or no knowledge of the most fundamental aspects of formatting or submitting a teleplay."
Stillwell's book includes the full shooting script for "Yesterday's Enterprise" as well all pre-production notations to give a real behind-the-scenes look at writing in Hollywood.
All copies of the book are autographed and can be purchased at Roddenberry.com. TrekWeb will also be giving away a FREE copy to a lucky News Nexus subscriber in our September issue!
Another brand new column in the Nexus is by contributor Jaqueline Bundy, formerly of the Trekker Newsletter. Bundy gives us a concise review of the late summer STAR TREK novels from Pocket Books and provides links to online excerpts.
"Probably the most exciting piece of news from the world of Star Trek publishing is that Andrew Robinson has announced his intentions to write another trek novel," Bundy writes in her STAR TREK IN PRINT column. "His first novel “A Stitch in Time” was universally acclaimed as one of the best science fiction novels of 2000. A word of caution though, Mr. Robinson’s proposed story still has to undergo the approval process at Paramount so despite the dither that this news has caused in the fan community it will be some time before the book would actually be available. Still, it’s welcome news and I for one am thrilled to learn there is another Garak novel to look forward to."
The News Nexus also includes a calendar of upcoming Stardates and Conventions, a comprehensive Television Listing of as many TREK episodes over the next month as we could find, a Community Update with bulletin board listings and a Monthly TrekWeb Wallpaper available only to subscribers.
We've also announced the first winner of our STAR TREK: COMMUNICATOR subscription giveaway and provided a complete Promenade Update for ways you can help TrekWeb. We'll pick another winner in the next issue, so subscribe today to get entered!
The Nexus is also looking for volunteers to help, so if you have an idea for a column or would like to help contribute, drop us a line.
Joining is absolutely FREE and if you aren't subscribed already, you can subscribe now to get access to today's premiere issue!
