Typhon Station is a very fastpaced PBeM RPG with skilled, experienced players and a warm sense of bonding and community. We play at the turn-of-the-century, 2400, and are located in the Typhon Expanses, bordering the Neutral Zone, proximate to the Romulan Empire, and near the Iconian Digs, and are on the first warning route of the original Borg Incursion.
We have three stations to post from, SB 185, USS Odyssey, and USS Wraith. They all have general and particular storylines and all interact. This game is not for the faint of heart! The writing is superb and comes hot and heavy. We have some open spots and also we will consider character suggestions. So, longtime RPGers and novices, check us out. See if you want to make Typhon Station your home away from home.

    Dept: Star Trek: Nemesis

In its coverage of day three at last weekend's Las Vegas "Real Deal" convention, StarTrek.com has posted a full report of makeup artist Michael Westmore's STAR TREK: NEMESIS presentation. Westmore brought with him busts of aliens and new photographs of the tenth feature film.

"[The movie]'s got that pace, it just throws you into it. It's going to blow your mind," Westmore exclaimed with energetic enthusiasm for NEMESIS. "For the Remans, it was the first time we experimented with gelatin, the light shows behind and through their ears, creating a very eerie look. We put wires in the ears to make them look like veins."

Westmore also revealed that to help make actor Tom Hardy's villainous character Shinzon bear a stronger resemblence to Patrick Stewart (Shinzon is a clone of Picard), special prosthetic and dental apparatuses were fashioned.

"[He] wore a Patrick Stewart chin, nose and teeth. We took a cast of Patrick's teeth," he told the audience before moving on to discuss makeup work on ENTERPRISE.

Westmore says he hopes for the opportunity to update at least one more TOS-era alien species for ENTERPRISE.

"I'm really hoping for Tellarites, there have been references in scripts and I'd really like to take a crack at them."

Elsewhere at the con, DS9 actress Nana Visitor reminisced about how the third STAR TREK series came to an end, saying she was pleased to be promoted to the rank of Colonel.

"The fact that I'm Colonel Kira? That so pleases me!"

She also says the separation of Kira and Odo in the series finale "What You Leave Behind" felt right.

"I said to the writers, 'Please don't make it a nice, tidy ending. Please don't put a bow on top of this package,'" Visitor remembered. "It was an adult relationship, an adult friendship, with maturity. Kira understood he had to go back to where he came from, because his journey was elsewhere. I was happy for that, and I think she was, too."
