Typhon Station is a very fastpaced PBeM RPG with skilled, experienced
players and a warm sense of bonding and community. We play at the
turn-of-the-century, 2400, and are located in the Typhon Expanses,
bordering the Neutral Zone, proximate to the Romulan Empire, and near
the Iconian Digs, and are on the first warning route of the original
Borg Incursion.
We have three stations to post from, SB 185, USS Odyssey, and USS
Wraith. They all have general and particular storylines and all
interact. This game is not for the faint of heart! The writing is
superb and comes hot and heavy. We have some open spots and also we
will consider character suggestions. So, longtime RPGers and novices,
check us out. See if you want to make Typhon Station your home away
from home. (0 comments | Add)

Supervising animator Rob Bonchune for effects house EdenFX, which produces much of the digital animation for ENTERPRISE, spoke with Wired recently about the quickly advancing field. The article talks about the upcoming Joss Whedon sci-fi series FIREFLY and ENTERPRISE, saying the type of visuals viewers see in these shows used to be only the domain of the most expensive motion pictures.
"Technically, you could have done these kinds of shots two or three years ago, but it would generally have cost too much and taken too much time for TV," Bonchune told the online mag. "Now it's become much more practical."
Speaking of the Suliban crawling up walls in last season's premiere, "Broken Bow" (which is up for a special-effects Emmy this year), Bonchune says the technology made it all happen.
"As God is my witness, they look absolutely dead real," said Bonchune. "There's no way we could have done that two years ago."
He goes on to say that in a few short years, mimicking realistic human faces might even allow a continuation of the original STAR TREK series's three-year outing.
"You could redo the old Star Trek series. The original mission was only three years. You could do two more entirely in CG."
