Typhon Station is a very fastpaced PBeM RPG with skilled, experienced
players and a warm sense of bonding and community. We play at the
turn-of-the-century, 2400, and are located in the Typhon Expanses,
bordering the Neutral Zone, proximate to the Romulan Empire, and near
the Iconian Digs, and are on the first warning route of the original
Borg Incursion.
We have three stations to post from, SB 185, USS Odyssey, and USS
Wraith. They all have general and particular storylines and all
interact. This game is not for the faint of heart! The writing is
superb and comes hot and heavy. We have some open spots and also we
will consider character suggestions. So, longtime RPGers and novices,
check us out. See if you want to make Typhon Station your home away
from home. (0 comments | Add)

In the new October issue of British SFX Magazine, co-creator and executive producer Brannon Braga echoes similar remarks given recently to the Star Trek: Communicator, but offers some new insights on the first season.
"One of our best episodes," Braga says of "Dear Doctor." "I liked the pacing, I liked the theme, I liked the fact that it became a Prime Directive episode toward the end and I liked the character work. For me it was a perfect Enterprise."
He says "Fight or Flight," the second episode of the season, captured the feeling of this new, untested group of Starfleet explorers with a particular scene.
"There was that interesting dinner table scene, where Archer asks T'pol, 'What if that was a ship filled with Vulcans, Would you just leave them?'," he says. "That, to me, was the beginning of Archer. Archer thought he was going to go out there and chart nebulas, collect minerals and meet people. Here he finds, very quickly, that there's bad stuff out there, really bad stuff, and how is he going to handle himself? His first impulse, which I liked, was to get the hell out of there, and then it doesn't sit well. The other shows couldn't have that quality, because they were very seasoned space travelers and unflappable."
The exec also says he had reservations about the Ferengi episode "Acquisition" at first, but in the end it was a mixed bag.
"It was not entirely successful," he admits. "There were some stabs at humor that fell flat, but others that worked. We set out to do a romp there, and I'd say we hit half the time. In terms of continuity, we were careful to make sure humans never did find out who they were and their name was never used. I saw more shit being given about our using the Ferengi before it aired than after. We almost didn't do this episode because we weren't sure it would fit well with continuity, but we decided to give it a whirl anyway."
Read more remarks about "Civilization," "Silent Enemy," "Sleeping Dogs," "Fusion" and "The Andorian Incident" over at the Suliban Helix forum. Thanks to TrekWeb member 'Cyrus' for the extracts.
