Typhon Station is a very fastpaced PBeM RPG with skilled, experienced
players and a warm sense of bonding and community. We play at the
turn-of-the-century, 2400, and are located in the Typhon Expanses,
bordering the Neutral Zone, proximate to the Romulan Empire, and near
the Iconian Digs, and are on the first warning route of the original
Borg Incursion.
We have three stations to post from, SB 185, USS Odyssey, and USS
Wraith. They all have general and particular storylines and all
interact. This game is not for the faint of heart! The writing is
superb and comes hot and heavy. We have some open spots and also we
will consider character suggestions. So, longtime RPGers and novices,
check us out. See if you want to make Typhon Station your home away
from home. (0 comments | Add)

Speaking Friday with Sci-Fi Wire, STAR TREK actor and director Jonathan Frakes says he's been on the accelerated learning track about the British cult sci-fi classic THUNDERBIRDS, which he has signed to adapt into a feature film for Universal Pictures.
"It's about a family international rescue team that functions under the radar of the public," he told the online newswire. "The Tracy family, is called in to save falling bridges and burning buildings that firemen can't save. It's one of those situations where someone calls a hotline, and this family comes to the rescue. There's also a wonderful international spy named Lady Penelope, who drives a six-wheel pink Rolls Royce. The original show was done with marionettes, and it was pretty wacko."
Frakes goes on to explain that fans are nearly as dedicated to this series in England as STAR TREK fans here in the United States--even Japan and Australia have huge THUNDERBIRDS fan bases.
"Our version of Thunderbirds will be entirely live-action, with a Spy Kids meets James Bond kind of vibe."
The film will ramp up production early next year and Frakes is beginning the casting process in England immediately. The film is tentatively slated for a 2004 release. Check out more of Frakes' comments here.
