Typhon Station is a very fastpaced PBeM RPG with skilled, experienced players and a warm sense of bonding and community. We play at the turn-of-the-century, 2400, and are located in the Typhon Expanses, bordering the Neutral Zone, proximate to the Romulan Empire, and near the Iconian Digs, and are on the first warning route of the original Borg Incursion.
We have three stations to post from, SB 185, USS Odyssey, and USS Wraith. They all have general and particular storylines and all interact. This game is not for the faint of heart! The writing is superb and comes hot and heavy. We have some open spots and also we will consider character suggestions. So, longtime RPGers and novices, check us out. See if you want to make Typhon Station your home away from home.

    Vegas Fun--Day Two

Written for TrekWeb by Jacqueline Bundy

Sunday in Las Vegas was filled with more stage appearances and capped off by an exciting announcement from Slanted Fedora’s David Scott. Beginning with next year's convention schedule, Slanted Fedora will be offering two all new and exclusive theater shows at their conventions.

Ethan Phillips and Robert Picardo have written an original short play featuring their Voyager characters Neelix and the Doctor. Entitled “House Calls” the play will be set after Voyager’s return to Earth. “House Calls” will be featured as the Friday night theater production in 2003.

Additionally Kitty Swink, the talented wife of Armin Shimerman, will be directing a number of DS9 alum’s in a production of the play “Bleacher Bums”. Performances of “Bleacher Bums” will be the Saturday evening dinner show. “Bleacher Bums” is a comedy about a group of long time die-hard Chicago White Sox fans. Rehearsals are already underway and the cast is obviously looking forward to performing this play together.

Still wearing the beard he grew for his recent extended run in the musical “A Class Act”, Robert Picardo got things off to a lively start on the main stage. In addition to answering questions and catching everyone up with news of his recent projects Mr. Picardo read a selection from his book “The Hologram’s Handbook”. He has recorded an audio version of the book to benefit the Pediatric Aids Foundation. The audience was also treated to two new song parodies, both of which along with another new selection are included as bonus tracks on a new version of his Basic Bob CD.

Ethan Phillips was asked about his appearance as a Ferengi in the Enterprise episode “Acquisition.“ He enjoyed the experience despite the make up being so much hotter than what he was used to. Asked about the Enterprise cast Mr. Phillips said he only worked very briefly with Jolene Blalock, most of his scenes involving the regular cast were with either Connor Trinneer or Scott Bakula. Stating, “Scott and Connor are both great guys.” He would be happy to return to Enterprise if asked.

Garrett Wang talked about the impression the original series had made on him as a child and the effect of seeing George Takei as Sulu had on him. Stating, “Sulu was the first Asian character I had seen on television that wasn’t stereotypical. That inspired me and gave me hope,” he said.

Asked about future projects Mr. Wang said that he’s currently not involved with anything but is always hopeful that something will come up: “There are slim pickings for Asian actors in Hollywood,” he said.

Mary Kay Adams ('Grilka', "Looking for par'Mach...") told the audience that her work on Deep Space Nine was the best experience she has had as an actress in Hollywood. A long time fan that loved to play Star Trek as a child she admitted to usually being Captain Kirk. “It was very exciting for me to learn that I would be on Star Trek. I was so excited I immediately called my parents to tell them.” Ms. Adams did admit to taking one of her nosepieces, which she sent to her Mom. She will soon begin work on several episodes of “Guiding Light” with Joan Collins and is very excited to have been accepted into a two-year program to train as a sign language interpreter.

Telling the audience that as a child she aspired to be a homicide detective Robin Curtis ('Saavik') will also be returning to school attending college in Cincinnati to study criminal justice. Sharing memories of her work on the third and fourth Star Trek movies Ms. Curtis said she wishes she had followed some good advice she was given at the time: “Both Walter and Nichelle urged me to keep a journal and I wish I had listened to them,” she said.

Aron Eisenberg also shared memories of working on Deep Space Nine entertaining the audience with stories of his seven years on the show and admitting that he did have a few reservations when he learned about the writers plans to have Nog join Starfleet. “At first I was afraid they were going to turn Nog into the new Wesley Crusher,” he said. Instead the writers allowed Nog to be himself albeit with Starfleet discipline and training.

Things began to wind down in the late afternoon as people made their preparations to return home. All in all it was a truly distinctive weekend for those lucky enough to be there and I have no doubt there will never be another event quite like it.
