Typhon Station is a very fastpaced PBeM RPG with skilled, experienced
players and a warm sense of bonding and community. We play at the
turn-of-the-century, 2400, and are located in the Typhon Expanses,
bordering the Neutral Zone, proximate to the Romulan Empire, and near
the Iconian Digs, and are on the first warning route of the original
Borg Incursion.
We have three stations to post from, SB 185, USS Odyssey, and USS
Wraith. They all have general and particular storylines and all
interact. This game is not for the faint of heart! The writing is
superb and comes hot and heavy. We have some open spots and also we
will consider character suggestions. So, longtime RPGers and novices,
check us out. See if you want to make Typhon Station your home away
from home. (0 comments | Add)

The new issue of Entertainment Weekly features a two-page spread on the Enterpise NX-01 bridge set. The article includes remarks from set designer Herman Zimmerman, who explains the design ethic for this prequel-era Starship Enterprise.
"The original series was done on a shoestring," Zimmerman told the mag. "so we've tried not to do anything too cartoony... Our idea of the future in the new ENTERPRISE is much more businesslike."
Actor Scott Bakula also weighs in, saying he thinks the sets really capture the feel of a submarine.
"I always loved all those submarine movies like VOYAGER TO THE BOTTOM OF THE SEA, 20,000 LEAGUES UNDER THE SEA and DAS BOOT," the actor says. "I think this ship has that feel to it."
The article dissects three elements of the bridge set -- Hoshi's translation console, the commemoration plaque and the science station sensor viewer, inspired by Mr. Spock's similar apparatus in the original series.
The mag also features Captain Archer's cabin, drawing attention to the double bed that is probably too short for the six-foot-plus Bakula, illustrator Doug Drexler's bronze statue of Zephram Cochran and the waterpolo ball over Archer's bed, hinting at the captain's "days as a jock." Decorator Jim Mees reveals the backstory was inspired by co-creator Rick Berman's son, who plays the sport.
