Typhon Station is a very fastpaced PBeM RPG with skilled, experienced
players and a warm sense of bonding and community. We play at the
turn-of-the-century, 2400, and are located in the Typhon Expanses,
bordering the Neutral Zone, proximate to the Romulan Empire, and near
the Iconian Digs, and are on the first warning route of the original
Borg Incursion.
We have three stations to post from, SB 185, USS Odyssey, and USS
Wraith. They all have general and particular storylines and all
interact. This game is not for the faint of heart! The writing is
superb and comes hot and heavy. We have some open spots and also we
will consider character suggestions. So, longtime RPGers and novices,
check us out. See if you want to make Typhon Station your home away
from home. (0 comments | Add)

Last week saw the triumphant return of ABC's Alias to the top of the heap of the science fiction/fantasy genre on network television, according to the final Nielsen ratings available in Wednesday's print edtion of USA Today. The second season premiere of the widely acclaimed Jennifer Garner-led spy series secured 11.3 million viewers for a 7.0/11 rating and share.
The good news for ENTERPRISE is that the second episode of its sophomore season, "Carbon Creek", finished ahead of ABC's Push, Nevada, UPN's The Twilight Zone and Haunted (all freshman series) and The WB's repeat of the third season finale of Angel (in 11th place), securing a 3.0/5 rating and share with 4.8 million viewers; only a 2% drop from the 4.9 million viewers who watched the season premiere of "Shockwave, Part 2."
The bad news is ENTERPRISE finished behind everyone else in 7th place for the week.
As expected by many, The WB's Smallville returned strongly for its second season premiere with a 4.8/7 rating and share, immediately staking its claim to the #2 slot behind ABC's Alias. According to USA Today, Smallville returned to "record audiences." Smallville's 8.7 viewers easily outdistanced the FOX Friday night lineup of Joss Whedon's Firefly and the amnesic John Doe. FOX Friday maintained their position in the top half of the rankings, performing well in comparison with other science fiction/fantasy network series; though perhaps not in comparison with the expectations of industry press in the case of Whedon's eagerly anticipated Firefly.
The WB's Charmed held enough of last week's surprisingly strong season premiere audience to secure 5th place this week with 5.1 million viewers, edging out the season premiere of UPN's Buffy the Vampire Slayer (3.1/5; 5.0 million viewers).
The bad news for UPN is its four shows occupy the bottom five of the Top 10. UPN finished in last place behind The WB for the week with an average of 4.2 million viewers. The WB averaged 4.5 million viewers. CBS won the week with an average of 13.9 million viewers, edging out NBC (average of 13.4 million). According to USA Today, The WB is up 48% compared with last fall's premieres whereas UPN has "plunged 28%."
Media Life Magazine has published analysis of UPN's woes so far this season. Go here to read the article "UPN's season sinks like a rock" by Kevin Downey, which pins the blame on the "faltering Enterprise."
