Typhon Station is a very fastpaced PBeM RPG with skilled, experienced
players and a warm sense of bonding and community. We play at the
turn-of-the-century, 2400, and are located in the Typhon Expanses,
bordering the Neutral Zone, proximate to the Romulan Empire, and near
the Iconian Digs, and are on the first warning route of the original
Borg Incursion.
We have three stations to post from, SB 185, USS Odyssey, and USS
Wraith. They all have general and particular storylines and all
interact. This game is not for the faint of heart! The writing is
superb and comes hot and heavy. We have some open spots and also we
will consider character suggestions. So, longtime RPGers and novices,
check us out. See if you want to make Typhon Station your home away
from home. (0 comments | Add)

Viacom announced earlier this week that it would utilize its vast media holdings to promote an anti-AIDS campaign beginning in January 2003. According to Dow Jones Business News, the media conglomerate will work with nonprofit organization the Kaiser Family Foundation to distribute AIDS and HIV awareness messages through public service announcements, online properties and its radio and television programming.
The company has pledged $120 million worth of ad placements for 2003 to be dedicated to the push, which will begin January 6th, 2003. PSAs on TV, radio and billboards will direct people to a web site and toll-free telephone number to prompt awareness about the issue.
Interestingly, the company says that its television properties will incorporate "AIDS storylines," citing FRASIER, THE DISTRICT and ENTERPRISE as three series that will do so. Other parts of the campaign will include the company's syndicated talk shows, BET and Nickelodeon programming, its Infinity radio station network, the publishing wing Simon & Schuster and the Paramount Motion Picture Group.
No details of how this awareness message will be incorporated into any of the series, including ENTERPRISE, have been offered. Check out the full story here.
