Typhon Station is a very fastpaced PBeM RPG with skilled, experienced
players and a warm sense of bonding and community. We play at the
turn-of-the-century, 2400, and are located in the Typhon Expanses,
bordering the Neutral Zone, proximate to the Romulan Empire, and near
the Iconian Digs, and are on the first warning route of the original
Borg Incursion.
We have three stations to post from, SB 185, USS Odyssey, and USS
Wraith. They all have general and particular storylines and all
interact. This game is not for the faint of heart! The writing is
superb and comes hot and heavy. We have some open spots and also we
will consider character suggestions. So, longtime RPGers and novices,
check us out. See if you want to make Typhon Station your home away
from home. (0 comments | Add)

Dept: Star Trek: Nemesis
Record label Varese Sarabande has posted details of its upcoming release of the STAR TREK NEMESIS soundtrack, available in the U.S. promptly before the pic's December release on November 26th. Composed by legendary music man Jerry Goldsmith, the NEMESIS score will be his fifth STAR TREK feature. Goldsmith was nominated for an Academy Award for his work on 1979's STAR TREK: THE MOTION PICTURE score and it has since become regarded as the quintessential STAR TREK score.
The label is wasting no time inviting comparisons. The marketing release for the NEMESIS disc says Goldsmith received standing ovations from musicians during the recording sessions for the music and offers the first description of the score:
"Ingeniously dark textures are mixed with action music that soars to apocalyptic heights... The epic tale of NEMESIS has inspired what may be Goldsmith’s greatest STAR TREK score since his best-selling STAR TREK: THE MOTION PICTURE. The score for NEMESIS is as epic as anything the legendary composer has ever written. Even the musicians themselves gave Goldsmith repeated ovations during the recording sessions and a triumphant round of applause on completion. This is unquestionably the most aggressive STAR TREK score ever."
Whether the music will live up to this billing remains to be seen. Goldsmith contributed the last two NEXT GENERATION feature scores, FIRST CONTACT and INSURRECTION, both released by GNP Crescendo Records and composed the main title themes for both ST:TNG and VOYAGER.
Other recent Varese Sarabande soundtracks include THE TUXEDO and THE SCORPION KING. You can view the label's upcoming release schedule here.
