Actor Michael Dorn told Sci-Fi Wire yesterday in a brief interview that he almost didn't come back for the tenth big screen ST:TNG adventure.
I was very close," he said. "It was extremely close... There were several times when I just called my friends [among the Next Generation cast] before they found out, and I said, 'Look, it's just not going to happen. I'm really sorry.' But at the last minute [Paramount Pictures] came up with something that I could live with."
The actor says his character, the immutable Klingon Worf--who's spanned two STAR TREK series and all three of the TNG films--has much less to do this time around.
"Usually he has his fighting stuff," he said, referencing FIRST CONTACT and INSURRECTION. "He gets one or two scenes where he really is doing Worf stuff. In this movie there isn't any of that. There's a lot of stuff going on [in general], and I think the Worf kinds of scenes just didn't lend themselves to this particular installment of our series."
Check out the full interview here. Thanks to Kevin S. for the head's up.
