Typhon Station is a very fastpaced PBeM RPG with skilled, experienced
players and a warm sense of bonding and community. We play at the
turn-of-the-century, 2400, and are located in the Typhon Expanses,
bordering the Neutral Zone, proximate to the Romulan Empire, and near
the Iconian Digs, and are on the first warning route of the original
Borg Incursion.
We have three stations to post from, SB 185, USS Odyssey, and USS
Wraith. They all have general and particular storylines and all
interact. This game is not for the faint of heart! The writing is
superb and comes hot and heavy. We have some open spots and also we
will consider character suggestions. So, longtime RPGers and novices,
check us out. See if you want to make Typhon Station your home away
from home. (0 comments | Add)

The official STAR TREK web site reported on the completion of production on episode 14 of the new season last night, "Stigma." In the episode, T'Pol is diagnosed with Pa'an Syndrome and Doctor Phlox seeks information on the disease from a Vulcan contingent on a nearby planet participating in the Interspecies Medical Exchange. Vulcans with the disease are stigmatized in their society so Phlox must be secretive about his need for the information. Meanwhile, one of the doctor's three Denobulan wives -- "Feezal" -- comes aboard to help Trip install a neutron microscope in Sickbay. This will be the first Denobulan aside from Phlox seen in the series and was played by actress Melinda Page Hamilton.
Directed by David Livingston ("The Seventh", "Precious Cargo"), "Stigma" also guest stars several Vulcan scientists -- including Michael Ensign as "Dr. Oratt" and Jeffrey Hayenga as "Dr. Yuris." "Stigma" is slated to air February 5th. Read more of the production report here.
After that comes "Crash Landing," for which TrekWeb received the first plot information early this morning. This episode will involve the return of the Suliban and a piece of technology the Enterprise is carrying -- a ship found adrift with a human pilot inside, dead unfortunately.
The ship appears furturistic and as Archer et al begin to study it, a Suliban freighter shows up to claim prior salvage rights. Archer refuses since it's a human ship and continues an investigation that turns up a myserious box emitting a strange power signature inside the ship.
When the Suliban return with some cell ships to aid in a forcible recovery of the ship, Archer enlists the help of the Vulcan vessel T'Yur, which the captain suspects will be eager to help defend the Enterprise in order to repay a recent debt.
This information is, of course, based on an early verison of the script for the episode and will likely undergo significant revision before airing in early 2003. The story is © Paramount Pictures. All Rights Reserved.

Stigmatized???

I always thought that to be stigmatized or looked down upon and/or feared by others in your society to be basic emotional responses and reactions, not logical ones. While we barbaric 21st century humans are slowly moving past our prejudices, why would these more advanced and futuristic 22nd century Vulcans display anything other than a logical reaction to a fellow Vulcan with a disease? The reason of course, is that our charming B&B keep writing the Vulcans as nothing more than humans with pointy ears. To hell with any logic! That might make the series just a bit more difficult to write for. Heck, I cringed just last week in "Singularity" when Archer asked T'Pol if she wouldn't mind reading the preface to his father's biography. Her response "I would be happy to" is just one more shining example of the lost logic once displayed by the Vulcans. A simple "I will do so" would have served as a much more logical Vulcan response; her answer didn't need to be emotionalized. It seems that Enterprise just cannot get the Vulcans right. LOGIC over EMOTION, GET IT!!!

This will be the first AIDS allegory episode to show up in Star Trek since David Gerrold's TNG episode was shelved by Roddenberry. GR must be spinning in his grave. :)

How would you rate the latest ENT episode, THE CATWALK, on a scale from 1 (bad) to 10 (excellent) in comparison to the best and the worst episodes of all previous Star Trek episodes?
