Typhon Station is a very fastpaced PBeM RPG with skilled, experienced
players and a warm sense of bonding and community. We play at the
turn-of-the-century, 2400, and are located in the Typhon Expanses,
bordering the Neutral Zone, proximate to the Romulan Empire, and near
the Iconian Digs, and are on the first warning route of the original
Borg Incursion.
We have three stations to post from, SB 185, USS Odyssey, and USS
Wraith. They all have general and particular storylines and all
interact. This game is not for the faint of heart! The writing is
superb and comes hot and heavy. We have some open spots and also we
will consider character suggestions. So, longtime RPGers and novices,
check us out. See if you want to make Typhon Station your home away
from home. (0 comments | Add)

Patrick Stewart talks in the new issue of TV Guide, on newsstands now with four different collectible NEMESIS-themed covers. Two feature Stewart, one features both he and Brent Spiner and two others feature the Enterprise-E in effects shots from the film. Stewart talks to journalist Michael Logan about some of the scenes cut from the film, saying one in particular was a regrettable loss.
"There was a very nice scene which came after the wedding that I really regret didn't make it into the movie. The wedding is over and Data and Picard are alone in Picard's cabin. I open a bottle of Chateau Picard, we have a glass together, and that's what we talk about. Also in the wedding we learn that Beverly Crusher is going to take over Starfleet Medical. Data is going to be the new first officer, and [he is] is talking about why do these occasions mean so much to humans, why do you have to mark them in this way? So I talk about rites of passage, and how everything we have is important, but change is vital to the development of individuals. Anyway, it all [was cut from the film], which is a shame because that scene [would have had] a terrific resonance at the end of the movie. [Cutting it] hasn't damaged the movie, but it emphasized [one of the film's themes] a little more strongly, and it made very, very clear this [crew] has been a family — but, as in all families, there comes a point at which people separate and the connections are either broken or else they get really stretched. And in that sense, [Nemesis] feels to me to be a really grown up movie."
He goes on, saying while Rick Berman and director Stuart Baird felt strongly to increase the pace of the film, this particular scene probably warranted inclusion.
"I feel a personal sadness because it was so very much about this Picard-Data relationship, and I do feel it would have paid great dividends down the road. I think Rick [Berman] and Stuart felt that the story needed to move along, that we needed to get to the story. I enjoy acting with Brent [Spiner, Data] so much, and in this [scene] we weren't doing techno babble, there wasn't some crisis happening, we were just sitting down having a glass of wine talking about how you mark important moments in a life and what that means. [Wistfully] It was very nice."
Stewart also talks about the end of the film, which initially included much more levity. The actor says he is glad some of those scenes were cut.
"There was another scene [cut], a long scene on the bridge at the end of the movie with some jokes in it. Some quite good jokes, actually. But I'm so glad the scene isn't there. [It] was a scene with Riker taking his farewell on the bridge — it was one farewell too many — and we got to meet a new First Officer. And there was a very good joke which might appear in the next movie, so I don't want to give it away. It really was a terrifically good physical joke that involved Picard, and I'm so glad it's not in the movie because the tone would have been quite wrong. It would have said, 'Well, you know what? We weren't really serious all along anyway. It's all just been a bit of fun.' And this movie has the guts to say, 'This has been serious stuff and here's something for you all to think about.' And good for Rick and the studio for sticking to that. This is about serious things and, yes, the stakes have got to be high and there have got to be costs. It's the same way with X2. We have a big cost that I'm not allowed to talk about."
