Typhon Station is a very fastpaced PBeM RPG with skilled, experienced
players and a warm sense of bonding and community. We play at the
turn-of-the-century, 2400, and are located in the Typhon Expanses,
bordering the Neutral Zone, proximate to the Romulan Empire, and near
the Iconian Digs, and are on the first warning route of the original
Borg Incursion.
We have three stations to post from, SB 185, USS Odyssey, and USS
Wraith. They all have general and particular storylines and all
interact. This game is not for the faint of heart! The writing is
superb and comes hot and heavy. We have some open spots and also we
will consider character suggestions. So, longtime RPGers and novices,
check us out. See if you want to make Typhon Station your home away
from home. (0 comments | Add)

ENTERPRISE network UPN has been struggling to find an audience and many critics have considered the outlet's lack of quality programming the chief culprit. Despite a successful Monday comedy block, both BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER and ENTERPRISE are significantly off their year ago ratings and just last week UPN programming chief Dawn Ostroff confirmed that ENTERPRISE is being slightly retooled to try and curb the decline.
Today Reuters reports on a new, vigorous strategy to fill the programming void with innovative, quality dramas next fall. Over ten new dramas are in development at the network, most from the production companies of some of Hollywood's biggest names. The change in fortune comes as UPN has gained clout with former Lifetime exec Ostroff taking over programming and CBS's Leslie Moonves overseeing the netlet.
Among the series under development are producer Joel Silver's NEWTON, a series about an American suburban family who "end up living in what's essentially a testing ground for strange, beyond-state-of-the-art inventions." Other big names include horror producer Wes Craven, developing KAMELOT, a future version of the King Arthur tale; 3 CARD MONTE from Mel Gibson's Icon Productions about con artists who con bad guys; ORDERLIES by Brian Grazer and Ron Howard's Imagine TV, about a "Bonnie and Clyde" couple who battle corporate America; BLUR, from Danny DeVito's Jersey TV, featuring an ex-con and his brother infiltrating the Las Vegas underworld on the side of the law; DELTA, a military special ops series; THE EDGE, a crime series in a U.S./Mexico border town.
Another strategy the network hopes may pay off is the injection of more diverse casts, featuring actors from underrepresented ethnic groups and hoping to draw in those audiences. Several other series are in the works and the network will likely opt to produce six to eight pilots for next fall, double this season's figure. Read about more series concepts here.

UPN should focus on what they have! All those pilots, crazy man! We don't need more shows, but we need one big hit, in other words Star Trek: Enterprise! They should focus on making this show the greatest, with all the help they talk about getting.. CANCEL all the rest!
Not that I think Enterprise is bad at all, but the reason for low ratings are too much saturation, competition and diversity in TV. There are too many shows already. People should unite around Star Trek instead.
But this is just bad news... All of it.

UPN needs to do what it can to save the network, period. As a smaller brand network, they can only rely on "Buffy" and "Star Trek" for so long. Even WWE Smackdown, one of the most popular UPN shows from a couple of years ago, is in danger of cancellation due to hurting ratings (not to mention live audience falloff as of late) and is currently set to end its run in August 2003.
While retooling the network to bring in a greater and more diverse audience is a good try, they should also work on their existing shows to make them stronger, particularly "Enterprise". That show needs a serious dose of Ronald D. Moore and/or Michael Piller to put a kick back into the show to put it on track.

How would you rate the latest ENT episode, THE CATWALK, on a scale from 1 (bad) to 10 (excellent) in comparison to the best and the worst episodes of all previous Star Trek episodes?
