Typhon Station is a very fastpaced PBeM RPG with skilled, experienced
players and a warm sense of bonding and community. We play at the
turn-of-the-century, 2400, and are located in the Typhon Expanses,
bordering the Neutral Zone, proximate to the Romulan Empire, and near
the Iconian Digs, and are on the first warning route of the original
Borg Incursion.
We have three stations to post from, SB 185, USS Odyssey, and USS
Wraith. They all have general and particular storylines and all
interact. This game is not for the faint of heart! The writing is
superb and comes hot and heavy. We have some open spots and also we
will consider character suggestions. So, longtime RPGers and novices,

SFX Magazine's STAR TREK spy has returned from a recent ENTERPRISE set visit and published new spoiler details about three upcoming episodes, according to The Great Link.
"Dawn" will be the first episode to air after the Holiday hiatus and pits Trip with an Arkonian pilot downed on a lethal moon that sees 170 degree temperatures during the day. The two men must work together to build a shelter from the heat while the Enterprise and a belligerent Arkonian ship bicker over a rescue strategy. Trip and the alien build a transmitter out of combined parts from their crafts but the Enterprise needs help from the Arkonian vessel to pick up the alien frequency. When the men are located, the Arkonia can't be beamed up because of his unique physiology and they must endure another treacherous "dawn" before finally the shadow of a modified Arkonian shuttlepod signals their rescue.
In "Stigma," airing February 5th, Doctor Phlox goes in search of information about a Vulcan disease afflicting T'Pol while at an interspecies medical conference. The disease is frowned upon in Vulcan society and when T'Pol is "outed" and threatened with recall to Vulcan, Archer calls for a hearing and one of the Vulcan doctors at the symposium cracks under the lights and reveals he suffers from the same disease. T'Pol contracted the disease when she was forced into a mind meld last season with another infected Vulcan. T'Pol is allowed to remain on the Enterprise and the Vulcan doctor is recalled to Vulcan.
Finally, in "Cease Fire," we'll see the return of Jeffrey Combs's Andorian 'Shran' as Archer is set to broker a deal between the Andorians and the Vulcans over a disputed planet. When a rogue group of Andorians shoot down the shuttlepod containing Archer, T'Pol and Ambassador Soval, the Andorians send reinforcements to the planet thinking the Vulcans are responsible and preparing for a confrontation. Trip, in command of the Enterprise, in forced to intervene and stall the Andorian fleet while Archer, who was able to land the pod, tries to make his way to find Shran. Soval is injured when the rogue officers attack but soon Shran captures them and negotiations begin. A cease fire is reached and further talks will continue as the Enterprise goes on her merry way.

...the last few Enterprise episodes have left me wanting. After the great episode with the robotic space station, and a pretty-good Minefield episode, I was starting to think, "Hey, I told you this isn't so bad!" (Heck, even Carbon Creek was boldly original, if nothing else...how many scifi shows would do such a simple, slow-paced, pleasant story? -- that episode has a nice moral as well, which a lot of modern scifi movies/TV lack.)
But now, eesh. I don't blame it so much on the writing, or the acting (okay, the princess Trip slept with had pretty bad acting...and who the heck has time to fool around on a dangerous swamp planet with villains on your tail?), it's the directing. I've noticed that the notably lousy episodes (I won't go into why they're bad, but they are) are consistently directed by the same people? Some of them are ex-Voyager actors/directors....what the heck? Why are the people that killed Voyager in charge of Enterprise?
What killed me about Voyager, and why I never watched, was they destroyed all the great premises they introduced in the opener. Enterprise, though more slowly and smartly, is doing the same thing. Those being: Earth has lousy technology, Archer doesn't like T'Pol or the Vulcans, space is dangerous, our tech sucks so we have to use our noodles (ha!)...
...I think Steve stated something I wholeheartedly agreed with, and that's why I've started checking out the site again. That is, the show doesn't seem inspired. That is, it's well-made, well-casted, even at times well-paced, but those in charge of taking the scripts to the screen are really failing. If anything can be blamed on B&B it's that they didn't truly go "fresh" with Enterprise: not as long as they recycle old Trek actors from Voyager --a show that was much worse than Ent, but started with almost as much potential. (Actually, Ent has huge potential. Fire those directors and overused actors!)
Let's see some good episodes again. (There have been about 6 really great episodes, so that's, what, 6 out of 30?) Still, it's only season 2, and I would have said the same about TNG at this time in that series. Enterprise actually is a little bit better thought out as far as pre-production goes. I think most of us are fearing a Voyager-like fall and hoping for a TNG-like rise (that show just got better with every season).

My two cents worth

I'm been lurking here for a long time and really like this site. I've been a Star Trek fan since I can remember. Although it pains me to say this, I think there is no question that the franchise has lost its luster.
Enterprise is a show that I fully support by watching each first-run episode when I can. Lately, the stories haven't been on par with the glory days of TNG. They don't address social or political issues with the same intellectual vigor that Star Trek and TNG did. I don't mind the trend toward "sexier action" stories. The formula, however, doesn't work when sex and action become substitutes for good writing. It's unfortunate because the cast is really talented and thoroughly capable of handling meatier material.
Berman and Braga have served the franchise well over the years, but they've lost their perspective. They're not fresh any longer. And they exercise too much control over the scripts and story development.
A word about Nemesis: I really liked the movie. Although it had some warts, it was exciting and fast-paced. I wish, however, that the extra scenes would have been included. As edited, the movie seemed a bit rushed and flat at times. I think that the additional scenes would have elevated the intellectual and emotional appeal of the film without sacrificing the first-rate battle scenes. I give it a B+.
I'll keep supporting the franchise. But I wish they wouldn't take my support for granted and try harder to improve the quality of the product. They've given us quality in the past. So, there is no reason to think that they can't do it again with the right people and hard work.

None of these plots seem remotely interesting. Are they even trying?

This is kinda getting scarry. True, UPN is the kinda network where "Lower" ratings look "OK" to them, but as I'm sure you all know, had this show landed on FOX, or even the big 3 Networks in the US, it probably would be canceled by now.
Even still, if the ratings keep dropping, I wonder if paramount will start looking for answers, or will the just can Enterprise at the end of the year.
I have to work on Wednesday nights, so I always tape the show and watch it later. Last year, I'd eagerly get home and watch the new ep right after work. This year, I've got the shows taped, but haven't gotten around to watching them, and it doesn't really bother me that I'm not watching them.
I think they need to shake the show up...They've got really good characters, and the prequil idea could work great. What happened to the Temporal Cold War? Why is the Federation going to come into existance 9 years from the point we're at in the show now. Where do the Andorians, and Vulcans fit into this? What of the Romulan War which Trek Lore says happened right before the founding of the Federation? What of all the other races that will join the Federation before the days of Kirk? And then if that's not enought, Why can't we have some flashbacks to when Archer first joined Starfleet. We know Starfleet hasn't existed for very long, why did it get created in the first place? Did it just come out of the Navy or what? More still, Character Development. Where did our people come from, develop personalities for them, focus of Phlox, something tells me he could be interesting. And for pete's sake please give Mayweather something to do, of get rid of the character!
It seems to me that all the crap I just laid out could span quite a number of episodes.
They need to realize that the "Kidnapping and Hostage situation of the Week" episodes are getting old. There are only so many ways you can abduct someone and make it interesting!!!
Enterprise has potential. Frankly, from it's start so did Voyager. Please let someone at paramount see that and have Enterprise live up to it. Cause UPN will honestly only tolerate ratings drops to a certian extent. After a failing movie, if Enterprise fails to, you can kiss Star Trek Goodbye, probably permanately. Is that what the Fans really want?

How would you rate the latest ENT episode, THE CATWALK, on a scale from 1 (bad) to 10 (excellent) in comparison to the best and the worst episodes of all previous Star Trek episodes?
