Typhon Station is a very fastpaced PBeM RPG with skilled, experienced
players and a warm sense of bonding and community. We play at the
turn-of-the-century, 2400, and are located in the Typhon Expanses,
bordering the Neutral Zone, proximate to the Romulan Empire, and near
the Iconian Digs, and are on the first warning route of the original
Borg Incursion.
We have three stations to post from, SB 185, USS Odyssey, and USS
Wraith. They all have general and particular storylines and all
interact. This game is not for the faint of heart! The writing is
superb and comes hot and heavy. We have some open spots and also we
will consider character suggestions. So, longtime RPGers and novices,
check us out. See if you want to make Typhon Station your home away
from home. (0 comments | Add)

Dept: Star Trek: Nemesis
STAR TREK NEMESIS is approaching $40 million in the domestic market but it may not reach it after this, its fourth weekend in release, according to studio estimates available at Box Office Mojo. When final numbers are tabulated tomorrow afternoon, NEMESIS is expected to come in 14th place on the weekend with a three-day take of $2,525,000, bringing the film's four-week total to $39,710,000. This represents a 37.7% decline on last weekend's gross and a drop of 219 theatres. NEMESIS began with 2,711 theatres but now plays in 2,423. The margin is close enough that final numbers may push the film over $40m.
THE TWO TOWERS took the crown yet again this weekend with a $25 million take, followed by CATCH ME IF YOU CAN's $21 million. MAID IN MANHATTAN stays in the top five with $9 million as its theatre count has risen 112 week-to-week and nearly 300 since it debuted against NEMESIS on December 13th.
The tenth TREK film opened in the United Kingdom this weekend and box office data should be available early this week. For more on the domestic box office visit Box Office Mojo.

First of all, the cinema was practically empty. I didn't expect that for the second night. In summary: Not the worst; not the best. It just screams of what could have been.
The last third was great sci-fi action. A pity that the the first two thirds of the film was BORING!
I can't remember being that bored watching a movie, EVER! At least half an
hour more should have been cut from this movie. Scene after boring scene of Picard and Shinzon TALKING. Scene after boring scene of the Enterprise crew
talking around the ship.
If we're going to have all these scenes of exposition, then at least have them running through the ship and conversing
(like Wrath of Khan), or put some character conflict in it (like First
Contact).
The three times we saw Picard and Shinzon meet(on Romulus, the dinner
scene, then the Schimitar) should have been cut into one scene of no more
than a few minutes.
It was very badly paced, and made me feel like I was watching season 7 next
generation.
Shinzon was not a "great" villain; nor was he a terrible one, but any character could have been on that ship wanting to destroy the Enterprise. It
made no sense that he decided to fight Picard to the death, when a) he needed his blood to live, and b) it was the Romulans he should have been seeking vengeance against.
Data also died a unnecessary death. How many times have we seen them use transporters on the shuttlecraft in the series?
But that's a sci-fi film.
The action scenes were very good. The opening sequence with the Tholeron
weapon was great. We needed to see more scenes like this. So many villains talk about and threaten to use weapons, but so very little actually do. The action took place in the Romulan sector. Shinzon should have been trying to destroy Romulus. Why bother even mentioning earth if he gets nowhere near?
The jokes were not as bad as Insurrection, but they only raised a mild giggle or two. Worf served no purpose, and they shouldn't have cut out why he was on the ship and no longer an Ambassador. And I have no idea why Wesley Crusher was in a Starfleet dress uniform at the wedding.
Riker's action stint at the end was good. Glad to see they gave him
something to do in the 4th movie. The battle scenes were nice, but I've seen
better in Deep Space Nine.
The ramming scene was perhaps the best sequence in the film and nicely done. I also liked that Goldsmith used his motion picture theme at the end in space dock, a shame about the rest of the soundtrack which was mediocre and unforgettable.
There was a great movie in there, but it took too long to get to it. I wasn't this bored watching the first half of Insurrection, but it came close. Only the last part of the movie saved it.
My vote: 7/10
Here's how I would list it in Trek movies (i'm forever changing my list):
Star Trek II
Star Trek III
First Contact
Star Trek VI
Star Trek IV
Nemesis
Star Trek TMP
Star Trek V
Generations
Insurrection
Not the best, not the worst.

Ah, a bit of good news...finally. Actually, I'm quite impressed. I thought the film would stick around $35 mil. :) Now, all the film need from oversea is about $25 mil. to cover the cost...what do you think? How much do you think NEM will make in TOTAL(obviously over $40 mil.)? My guess would be around $71 mil.

How would you rate the latest ENT episode, DAWN, on a scale from 1 (bad) to 10 (excellent) in comparison to the best and the worst episodes of all previous Star Trek episodes?
