Typhon Station is a very fastpaced PBeM RPG with skilled, experienced
players and a warm sense of bonding and community. We play at the
turn-of-the-century, 2400, and are located in the Typhon Expanses,
bordering the Neutral Zone, proximate to the Romulan Empire, and near
the Iconian Digs, and are on the first warning route of the original
Borg Incursion.
We have three stations to post from, SB 185, USS Odyssey, and USS
Wraith. They all have general and particular storylines and all
interact. This game is not for the faint of heart! The writing is
superb and comes hot and heavy. We have some open spots and also we
will consider character suggestions. So, longtime RPGers and novices,
check us out. See if you want to make Typhon Station your home away
from home. (0 comments | Add)

Dept: Star Trek: Nemesis
German Cinema and TV magazines have published the first previews and reviews of STAR TREK NEMESIS. Most are positive and reflect a warm anticipation for the film when it expands into Germany next week on January 16th and 17th, and Austria and Switzerland January 23rd. TrekZone.deTrekZone.de has published excerpts from the articles of the largest German cinema magazines, and provided an English translation of the story:
Oliver Silantario, who was able to see the synchronized German version of NEMESIS three weeks before the official premiere and review it for TrekZone.de is enthusiastic about the special effects of the movie.
"Technically very ambitious are all, but really all the exterior shots. Never before have I seen such a lively and 'real' expressions. Although in space - even after x season of 'Star Trek' in different variations - there aren't any sonic transfers possible, one can hear very real and plausible the groaning material and the rumble of the ships body."
"Xposé" has published a one-sided preview for the movie and can't wait for the German opening "This movie is of course going to be great", can be read in the preview. "How do we know that? Because of the rule, that the Trek movies with even numbers have always been great! [...] 'Nemesis' will also feature some breathtaking scenes. The teaser trailer and the articles on the net make you want to watch the movie and prove that the 'oldies' can show Mr. Potter, Skywalker and Baggins who the grandfather of fantastic cinema really is."
"DVD Vision" is also excited about the fourth adventure of Captain Picard and his crew on the big screen and expects quite a bit from the movie: "Science fiction fans in common can be certain of one thing: 'Nemesis' has even more action sequences than 'First Contact' and clearly less homilies than 'Insurrection'. If one believes in the legend of the movies with the even and the odd numbers 'Nemesis' is something everybody can look forward to."
"Planet Movies" sees NEMESIS in an optimistic way, but also expresses the ambiguous reactions of British fans at the recent European premiere: "The premiere in London evoked different reactions under the fans. Enthusiasm didn't quite prevail."
"Moviestar" has its doubts about the success of the movie at the box office but is convinced that John Logan wrote a good piece of the Trek movie history. "['Nemesis'] is a 'Star Trek' movie with the emphasis on action, what will be good for the hard core fans, but also should attract the average audience."
More German previews and reviews are to expected in the weeks to come and you can reach the original story here.

Now, one week before Nemesis starts in Germany, the whole city of Berlin is full of Nemesis adverstising posters.
At every bus station, every edge there is a poster, and before almost every movie you can see a trailer.
I hear people talking about Nemesis, even those who don't know Star Trek very much, and they are looking forward to watch another great SF movie.
I've really the impression Nemesis could do very well here in Germany!

I aggree with Flake on previous comment. Star Trek TOS, TNG, DS9 and VOY are haveing some of the highest ratings in months this last few weeks, TNG just started new reruns on tv in prime time even though it ended less then a week ago on other tv chanel and it looks like Enterprise is just few weeks away. Oh and NEMESIS is back in Top 10 in US Box Office!

To the poster of the comment below:
There are 360 Million people in the USA and UK, therefore 0.05 percent of the worlds population have had the chance to see Nemesis.
Nemesis aint over till June when the last few countries get the opportunity to see it.
Then of course there is a DVD to talk about which may have many features, including deleted scenes.
I like how Germany is receiving the film, it looks like one of the last places that still has some respect for the franchise.

wtf? Nemesis is OVER! There is no room for talk about it anymore, out with the old trek, in with the new trek.
Hopefully they can pick up the series, because the movies are dead old and dead over with.

maybe there is hope for nemesis yet, good to see it getting the reviews it deserved, shame they weren't in english, heres a theory maybe because german people tend not to look at english trek websites they haven't read the complete script before the movie opens, they don't know the plot to each episode so they get a complete fresh story, and that makes them appreciate it more. truthfully don't you think the internet has dampened enthusiasm, remember the days of the next generation when to know what an episode was about you had to watch it, when you had no idea about what was going to happen, you may have seen it was going to be a Q episode in the TV spot but other than that you'd know nothing, now we'd know how he appeared, what he did, his purpose for visiting, and possibly if he succeeded or not, thats why i dont read about upcomming episodes etc, try it you might recapture some of that enthusiasm for the series everybody seems to think is getting predictable.

How would you rate the latest ENT episode, DAWN, on a scale from 1 (bad) to 10 (excellent) in comparison to the best and the worst episodes of all previous Star Trek episodes?
