Typhon Station is a very fastpaced PBeM RPG with skilled, experienced
players and a warm sense of bonding and community. We play at the
turn-of-the-century, 2400, and are located in the Typhon Expanses,
bordering the Neutral Zone, proximate to the Romulan Empire, and near
the Iconian Digs, and are on the first warning route of the original
Borg Incursion.
We have three stations to post from, SB 185, USS Odyssey, and USS
Wraith. They all have general and particular storylines and all
interact. This game is not for the faint of heart! The writing is
superb and comes hot and heavy. We have some open spots and also we
will consider character suggestions. So, longtime RPGers and novices,
check us out. See if you want to make Typhon Station your home away
from home. (0 comments | Add)

Since 1997, MediaTrek.com has provided STAR TREK fans with free access to STAR TREK media ranging from episode promos to news magazine interviews to unique outtakes and other science fiction-related materials. MediaTrek maestro Matt Klamm regretfully sends word today that the site will cease operations at the end of this month.
"Monthly ad revenues from the site have never even helped to pay 25% of MediaTrek.com's monthly costs," Klamm said. "I started the site as a hobby and to share things with other fans of science fiction. It has become a very costly hobby."
MediaTrek has been a mainstay of online fandom, working with TrekWeb from its inception to provide the first downloadable footage from 1998's STAR TREK: INSURRECTION and the recent STAR TREK NEMESIS trailer earlier this year. The site has also provided the weekly UPN promos for VOYAGER and ENTERPRISE.
Klamm's participation in the online community led to his involvement in 2001's STAR TREK: THE MOTION PICTURE - The Director's Edition DVD project. Producer David C. Fein crediting Klamm's efforts with locating the second trailer for TMP, which was eventually included on the DVD.
To commemorate the last days of the site, MediaTrek has made available several special never-before-available media downloads for a limited time. Among these are William Shatner in a rap video, Patrick Stewart singing on the bridge of the Enterprise-D from the recent fifth season DVD set, ENTERPRISE's Connor Trinneer in HBO's 61, the Ebert and Roeper review of STAR TREK NEMESIS and even several ORIGINAL SERIES promo spots.
MediaTrek will be sorely missed and all of us here at TrekWeb wish Matt Klamm well in his future endeavors. Peace and long life, MediaTrek.com.

If you go to MediaTrek site in its twilight hours, it is very likely that you will see its banner ad is Typhon Station RPG, which is proud to advertise with TrekWeb. We have been on MediaTrek consistently in an effort to show Matt our admiration and support of his site and his generous and giving nature and the quality and merit of his contributions to the Trek universe.
I am saddened at this news and even more, I am surprised to find it out on TrekWeb, as for so long we have been so loyal in advertising with MediaTrek.
However, it is no surprise that Matt's last thoughts, regarding his website, would be his fans and not his advertisers; it's why he is who he is....a wonderful friend of the genre.
Go gentle. There are always possibilities......
