Typhon Station is a very fastpaced PBeM RPG with skilled, experienced
players and a warm sense of bonding and community. We play at the
turn-of-the-century, 2400, and are located in the Typhon Expanses,
bordering the Neutral Zone, proximate to the Romulan Empire, and near
the Iconian Digs, and are on the first warning route of the original
Borg Incursion.
We have three stations to post from, SB 185, USS Odyssey, and USS
Wraith. They all have general and particular storylines and all
interact. This game is not for the faint of heart! The writing is
superb and comes hot and heavy. We have some open spots and also we
will consider character suggestions. So, longtime RPGers and novices,
check us out. See if you want to make Typhon Station your home away
from home. (0 comments | Add)

Dept: Deep Space Nine
Speaking in the new issue of the UK's Star Trek Monthly, former STAR TREK: DEEP SPACE NINE executive producer Ira Steven Behr says the franchise's third series made its mark with imperfect, more realistic characters.
"We brought frailty back. People aren't always sitting around talking about how to solve problems. People are the problem," he says in the mag (excerpts available at TrekToday). I think we tried to make the characters grow and become more multi-dimensional... It's nice to see we're going to survive the 20th century, and this is still the optimistic Gene Roddenberry universe, but there are relatable human frailties within that perfect world."
For Behr, Colm Meaney's 'Miles O'Brien' was a character more relatable to today than any previous TREK character.
"He was the only guy in all of Star Trek that I could relate to. He's intelligent, but not that intelligent, he's a little bigoted, he's a little sexist, he's a little everything and I think that was a nice character to have," he recalls.
The darker, edgier and less perfect universe of DS9 was the chief reason Behr, who had left TNG after the third season, hopped back into the fold.
"I had lunch with Michael and Rick Berman, and they said, 'There will be more humour, more conflict, more characters to play with, less tech. People will be more neurotic and unhappy and dark,' and I said, 'Okay, I think I can do that!'"
Read more excerpts from Behr's interview, including his thoughts on whether there will ever be a new DS9 project, at TrekToday.

DS9's season 5-7 are my favourite Star Trek. It would be nice to see Behr involved in Enterprise. A few times I think the darkness went overboard: When the crew battled Jem-Hadar and Klingons with knifes in season 4. That kind of brutality didn't fit the characters, or the way of Star Trek. Besides it was unrealistic for them to survive. But I'm not to say if Behr was behind this idea. Season 5-7 was a masterpiece in terms of making the characters dynamic and interesting. Weyoun, Dukat, Damar, Kai Wim, Garak, Rom, Martok - lots of guest characters with a soul, and every actor fit it perfectly.

This is just making me miss DS9 that much more. They need to slash the damn prices for those DVDs or else I might end up actually spending the $700-$800 for the whole series! What an outrageous price!

Behr is the exactly the type of "new" blood that Enterprise needs. He would bring some much-needed drama to Enterprise, if only the suits would recognize such a thing. There are so many good people out there that understand what Trek is about and what fans want.
Why won't Paramount listen?

I agree with teh earlier post. He seems exactly what ENT needs. Archer et al are teh first out there.
Mistakes and miscues should be the hallmark of their exploring...not cookie cutter perfection.

Does anyone know if Ira Steven Behr is involved with Enterprise in any way? If not...WHY? He seemes to be someone that could really make Enterprise click. What they did on DS9 so successfully, isn't to far from what they're trying to do on Enterprise
