"Judgment" Pays Homage With Healthy Dose of STAR TREK VI, ST:TNG Continuity (SPOILERS)

PROMENADE

Place an ad today!

Typhon Station is a very fastpaced PBeM RPG with skilled, experienced players and a warm sense of bonding and community. We play at the turn-of-the-century, 2400, and are located in the Typhon Expanses, bordering the Neutral Zone, proximate to the Romulan Empire, and near the Iconian Digs, and are on the first warning route of the original Borg Incursion.
We have three stations to post from, SB 185, USS Odyssey, and USS Wraith. They all have general and particular storylines and all interact. This game is not for the faint of heart! The writing is superb and comes hot and heavy. We have some open spots and also we will consider character suggestions. So, longtime RPGers and novices, check us out. See if you want to make Typhon Station your home away from home.

The official STAR TREK web site reports on the completion of production of ENTERPRISE's nineteenth episode, "Judgment," today. In addition to confirming that former DS9 actor J.G. Hertzler ('Martok') will appear as 'Advocate Kolos' (story), the site offers more plot details on the episode as well as casting information.

In the episode, Archer is accused of aiding a rebelling Klingon colony and brought before a tribunal on the Klingon outpost Narenda III--the outpost destroyed by the Romulans in TNG's "Yesterday's Enterprise." Hertzler's Kolos is the public defender, who will try and keep the captain from a life sentence mining dilithium on Rura Penthe (STAR TREK VI). The Klingon Tribunal Chamber was constructed deliberately to pay homage to the set design of the final TOS-era feature film, with the accused spotlighted in the central platform of a smokey chamber ruled over by a sphereical-gavel-wielding magistrate. There will even be scenes on Rura Penthe, the arctic environment recreated on Paramount soundstages and with post-production enhancements.

In addition to Hertzler, the guest cast will include John Vickery as 'Prosecutor Orak' (previously 'Gul Rusot' in DS9's final episodes); and Daniel Riordan as the ancestor of 'Duras', who draws the Enterprise into the story.

The episode is directed by James L. Conway and wrapped Monday. The teleplay was written by consulting producer David A. Goodman from a story by himself and Taylor Elmore. "Judgment" airs March 26th on UPN. Reach the original report here.

What's That Outpost?

I always thought it was "Narendra" not "Narenda" but the 'Stellar Cartography' section of startrek.com says "Narenda" as well. God knows I've e-mailed a few corrections to them in the past, so I searched the 'net and found 5 Norenda III's, 50 Norendra III's, 91 Narenda III's, and 961 Narendra III's.

Well, if they say Narenda and it's supposed to be Narendra we can just blame it on either faulty 22nd century translator technology, or a typo in TNG's historical database.

Duras

I wonder if this Duras might appear beyond this episode? Perhaps he might blame Archer for whatever happens to him in this episode and goes gunning for him in subsequent episodes.

Another thought, betraying the empire runs in the family, so perhaps Duras might end up collaborating with the Romulans or Suliban later on.

Keep in mind that in "Yesterday's Enterprise" they were on their way to Archer 4 at the beginning of the episode (which they mentioned again in the changed timeline (a certain "pasting" they gave the Klingons) and once more when the timeline reverted).
I've been thinking about this since I first heard the name Jonathan Archer.

I have stopped watching ENT because I got tired of all the lame episode that had nothing to do with the bigger story of Star Trek.
But after reading that synopsis, I am going to make it a point to watch again.
It's good use of things that the fans know and love that will help please the fans while allowing ENT to carve it's own niche into the Star Trek universe and hopefully bring in new fans.

Can Not Wait

At first I could not wait for this episode. It sounded good from the start. Now I really can not wait. This sounds like it will be fun. I just hope they shoot it good. May it not be "static" and poorly lighted. I think that this episode will be great.

Just like all Star Trek

You have to give this show 3 years. TNG, DS9, and VOY all had their slump in the beginning. I just hope that now that Nemesis is no longer in their focus, they will start to spend more time on the prolonging stories of ENT.
Go Enterprise, we need it!

I think that this episode sounds great. I feel like Enterprise is starting to turn the corner and getting into a groove that will make the show much better.

I hope the series stays the course and continues to deliver episodes like Stigma, Judgment, Crash Landing, etc.

EEEEEXCELLENT!

Looks like ENT is finally getting its act together as a continuity STAR TREK prequel... just as I always thought it would. ;-)

Now you don’t even want continuity. I keep being impressed by how far Star Trek "fans" can go. I guess SmallVille is good. Thumbs up for Enterprise.
