UPN "Cease Fire" Promo Available: Photos and Transcript Inside PLUS: ENT's Dedication to the Space Shuttle Columbia

PROMENADE

Place an ad today!

Typhon Station is a very fastpaced PBeM RPG with skilled, experienced players and a warm sense of bonding and community. We play at the turn-of-the-century, 2400, and are located in the Typhon Expanses, bordering the Neutral Zone, proximate to the Romulan Empire, and near the Iconian Digs, and are on the first warning route of the original Borg Incursion.
We have three stations to post from, SB 185, USS Odyssey, and USS Wraith. They all have general and particular storylines and all interact. This game is not for the faint of heart! The writing is superb and comes hot and heavy. We have some open spots and also we will consider character suggestions. So, longtime RPGers and novices, check us out. See if you want to make Typhon Station your home away from home.

UPN aired the promo for "Cease Fire" and TrekWeb is happy to provide it as part of a new feature. Matthew Klamm of MediaTrek.com may not have the large amount of money required to run his popular Trek media site anymore, but he has joined the TrekWeb team and from time to time will be offering select media files for download. This includes new weekly episode trailers.

Last night's episode contained a special tribute to the fallen crew of the Space Shuttle Columbia, who were lost when the NASA space craft attempted reentry on Saturday morning. Before the episode began, a single title was shown dedicating the episode to the lost crew of STS-107. The title read: "In memory of the Columbia crew... You will always be an inspiration."

Next week's episode, "Cease Fire," features the return of Jeffrey Combs as the Andorian 'Shran.' Archer is brought in to broker a deal between the Andorians and the Vulcans over a disputed planet. When a rogue group of Andorians shoot down the shuttlepod containing Archer, T'Pol and Ambassador Soval, the Andorians send reinforcements to the planet thinking the Vulcans are responsible. Can a massive confrontation be avoided? Vaughn Armstrong as 'Admiral Forest' returns as well in this episode. "Cease Fire" was written by Chris Black and directed by David Straiton.

The 20 second promo is available to download as a 3.4MB zipped MPG (VCD complaint) file. Click here to download the file. [PLEASE NOTE: Webmasters do not link to the file directly. Please download it and place it on your own server with a link to TrekWeb.com giving credit. Thank you.] For those of you with slower connections, here's a transcript:

"A timely new Enterprise event . . ."

hmmm . . . I wonder what UPN means by "A timely new Enterprise event."

Perhaps they're referring to the "timeliness" of airing a quality episode after having aired three solid months (maybe I should say a year and a half) of crap.

Then again, perhaps they were referring to the "timeliness" of such an episode in light of America's latest expressions of imperialist masturbation.

"Resistance is futile!"

I leave you to judge . . .

Well done UPN for getting it right for once as well! :)

Nemesis had all the right buttons there waiting to be pressed, but like Data on a Reman keypad Paramount seem to have pushed the wrong ones. :/

This must be the first time that the UPN promo department used the actual title of the episode in their promos.
