GENERATIONS Director David Carson to Helm Wesley Snipes Action Thriller NINE LIVES

PROMENADE

Typhon Station is a very fastpaced PBeM RPG with skilled, experienced players and a warm sense of bonding and community. We play at the turn-of-the-century, 2400, and are located in the Typhon Expanses, bordering the Neutral Zone, proximate to the Romulan Empire, and near the Iconian Digs, and are on the first warning route of the original Borg Incursion.
We have three stations to post from, SB 185, USS Odyssey, and USS Wraith. They all have general and particular storylines and all interact. This game is not for the faint of heart! The writing is superb and comes hot and heavy. We have some open spots and also we will consider character suggestions. So, longtime RPGers and novices, check us out. See if you want to make Typhon Station your home away from home.

STAR TREK director David Carson has signed to direct the thrilled NINE LIVES, starring Wesley Snipes, according to the Hollywood Reporter. Carson directed 1994's GENERATIONS and recently helmed the Bryan Fuller-penned television adaptation of CARRIE for the NBC network. Carson directed several ST:TNG episodes, as well as the DEEP SPACE NINE pilot "Emissary." Recently he helmed episodes of SMALLVILLE and the cancelled WB series BIRDS OF PREY.

NINE LIVES might be described as a 'psychotropic thriller', centering on a former American solider mistaken for a government agent and injected with a mind-control drug that allows him to be controlled with a single suggestion. On the run, he must find the antidote while battling the hallucinations his enemies create.

The film is being produced by Millennium Films and the Jacobson Co. and producer Tom Wedda said of Carson, "David is an incredibly talented director and has a spectacular vision for the picture." You can read more here.

revisited the last three TNG movies "Generations," "First Contact" and "Insurrection." And for all the other flaws that existed in their stories or characterizations - the one fault I can't find with them is in the directing. They were all very sharp looking films that flowed fine and are all fun to watch. Carson did a great job with "Generations" and if they ever do another TNG, I hope they consider him again.

But if they do want to bring in an outside director again - why not go to one of these new hot shot directors who were probably inspired by Trek? That's why they got Logan right? He loved Trek! I'm sure there are some decent directors out there who love Trek and would love to direct one...

like Bryan Singer???? Why was he just a bridge officer? He should've helmed the damn thing! I've heard he's become frustrated with the "X-Men" stuff and "X-2" maybe his last... so why not consider him??? If they do bring in someone from the outside - then why not find someone who is A. an experienced director; and B. has a fondness for Trek. Baird apparently had never really watched Trek before so even though he might have fulfilled the requirements for part "A." he failed in part "B."

Nemesis had all the right buttons there waiting to be pressed, but like Data on a Reman keypad Paramount seem to have pushed the wrong ones. :/
