Typhon Station is a very fastpaced PBeM RPG with skilled, experienced players and a warm sense of bonding and community. We play at the turn-of-the-century, 2400, and are located in the Typhon Expanses, bordering the Neutral Zone, proximate to the Romulan Empire, and near the Iconian Digs, and are on the first warning route of the original Borg Incursion.
We have three stations to post from, SB 185, USS Odyssey, and USS Wraith. They all have general and particular storylines and all interact. This game is not for the faint of heart! The writing is superb and comes hot and heavy. We have some open spots and also we will consider character suggestions. So, longtime RPGers and novices, check us out. See if you want to make Typhon Station your home away from home.

Sci-fi writer/producer Mark A. Altman let it slip while speaking with Entertainment Zone that a sequel to his award-winning 1998 comedy FREE ENTERPRISE is in the works. The original starred William Shatner as an uber-version of himself, who two 'Trekkies' (Eric McCormack, now of WILL AND GRACE, and Rafer Weigel) befriend and proceed to assist in putting together an all-Bill stage production of JULIUS CAESAR.

Altman co-wrote the pic with Robert Meyer Burnett and it won numerous awards five years ago, including Best New Writer award from the Writer's Guild of America and the Best Picture/New Directions award at the AFI 1998 Film Festival. Altman says Shatner is onboard for a sequel currently in development.

"Rob and I are writing the script now and Shatner's onboard and we have a great idea so that's a bit of an exclusive," he said. "We haven't really announced this yet. I didn't really want to do a sequel, but Rob and I came up with a great idea that we took to Shatner that he loved and proceeded to make even better and now it's taken on a life of its own. It's sort of CURB YOUR ENTHUSIASM" meets SWINGERS."

You can read more from Altman on all his latest projects at Entertainment Zone.

Former STAR TREK scribe Michael Taylor was honored yesterday with a nomination for a Nebula Award for his work on THE DEAD ZONE script "Unreasonable Doubt." The awards are sponsored by the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America to recognize excellent genre work. Taylor will go up against Joss Whedon for his musical BUFFY installment "Once More With Feeling," Ted Elliott and Terry Rossio (SHREK) and Frances Walsh, Philippa Boyens and Peter Jackson (LOTR: TFOTR).

Taylor joined the Michael Piller-produced DEAD ZONE as a co-producer after several years aboard both DEEP SPACE NINE and VOYAGER where his first script, "The Visitor" became a STAR TREK classic and was recognized with a Hugo nomination for Best Dramatic Presentation. This year's Nebula Awards will be presented in Philadelphia April 18-20.

Check out Sci-Fi Wire for the full list of nominess.

Loved it.. own it.. can't wait for the sequel, if they get the original cast back. Don't do it without McCormick.

Free ENterprise was one of the funniest movies I have seen in so long. Robert reminds me so much of myself that at times I felt the writers must have been watching me before they made this movie. I can't wait to see what they come up with for the sequel.

In a way I almost wish they wouldn't make a sequel. The first one is so good there is simply no way they could make one even remotly as good.

Free Enterprise was one of my favourite movies the year it came out. It was really hilarious ... sort of like SWINGERS for Geeks. The idea that Shatner looks at Porn before embarking on a quest to make a musical version of Julius Caesar ... his rap number at the conclusion of the film is classic Shatner. McCormick is great in the film ... his Kirk impression is dead on. The actors include poeple from SWINGERS and MAD TV. If you haven't seen it, and you like Trek and like to say quotes from random sci-fi films and TOS episodes, then this film is for you. I am looking forward to the sequel.
