Typhon Station is a very fastpaced PBeM RPG with skilled, experienced players and a warm sense of bonding and community. We play at the turn-of-the-century, 2400, and are located in the Typhon Expanses, bordering the Neutral Zone, proximate to the Romulan Empire, and near the Iconian Digs, and are on the first warning route of the original Borg Incursion.
We have three stations to post from, SB 185, USS Odyssey, and USS Wraith. They all have general and particular storylines and all interact. This game is not for the faint of heart! The writing is superb and comes hot and heavy. We have some open spots and also we will consider character suggestions. So, longtime RPGers and novices, check us out. See if you want to make Typhon Station your home away from home.

Space advocacy organization The Planetary Society has begun a campaign to voice support for continued space exploration in the wake of the Space Shuttle Columbia tragedy. The Declaration of Support for Space Exploration — A Response to the Loss of Columbia and her Crew urges the continuation of both manned and robotic missions into space and has drawn the support of TREK alumni.

Robert Picardo ('The Doctor') is a member of the society's Advisory Council and has signed the delcaration, saying, "Although the recent tragedy envelops us all, to falter in our commitment to the future of human and robotic exploration of space is a disservice to the dedicated men and women who serve us as architects of our future."

Nichelle Nichols has also voiced her support for the endeavor, and offers these words at her web site, Uhura.com: "We are called once again as our history has called us before to reconfirm our commitment that these brave and brilliant souls shall not have died in vain. We must now stand united and demand that the dream become a reality. To do less would be an insult to our heroes, the Astronaut Corp, and to this great nation."

According to the official STAR TREK web site, other TREK personalities who have joined the declaration include ENTERPRISE writer Andre Bormanis, TREK scenic art supervisor Mike Okuda and former illustrator Rick Sternbach. The declaration will be presented to NASA after collecting more supporters.
