More "Future Tense" Media: Photos and Video Inside, Plus Watch Out for the Borg Queen & Admiral Leyton

PROMENADE

Place an ad today!

Typhon Station is a very fastpaced PBeM RPG with skilled, experienced players and a warm sense of bonding and community. We play at the turn-of-the-century, 2400, and are located in the Typhon Expanses, bordering the Neutral Zone, proximate to the Romulan Empire, and near the Iconian Digs, and are on the first warning route of the original Borg Incursion.
We have three stations to post from, SB 185, USS Odyssey, and USS Wraith. They all have general and particular storylines and all interact. This game is not for the faint of heart! The writing is superb and comes hot and heavy. We have some open spots and also we will consider character suggestions. So, longtime RPGers and novices, check us out. See if you want to make Typhon Station your home away from home.

After "Cease Fire," many Trek fans are hoping that the better quality of storytelling will stay on in the episodes to come. This includes the next episode "Future Tense" airing this Wednesday. TrekWeb has some new photos and an alternate 20-second promo for the episode. The 20 second promo is available to download as a 3.3MB zipped MPG (VCD complaint) file. Click here to download the file. [PLEASE NOTE: Webmasters do not link to the file directly. Please download it and place it on your own server with a link to TrekWeb.com giving credit. Thank you.]

In other news, the Borg Queen is back. No, not on 'Enterprise,' but in the upcoming SCI FI Channel mini series 'Children of Dune.' Alice Krige will star in the epic mini-series and will be attending a chat at their website on February 21st. Also, Robert Foxworth (Admiral Leyton in DS9's 'Paradise Lost') will be appearing in a Stargate SG-1 episode titled "Memento" airing March 7th on the SCIFI Channel. In the episode, which TrekWeb's Matt Klamm got to preview last week, the SG-1 team is along for the ride on the shakedown cruise of Earth's first starship called the Prometheus. In an eariler episode this season, Col. Jack O'Neil (Richard Dean Anderson) requested that the starship be called Enterprise, but the President of the United States declined his request. Foxworth plays an excellent and important part in this episode. In fact, his character goes against a man that is very much like Admiral Leyton. "Memento" feels like a good-old classic Star Trek epsiode in a few ways, but executive producer Joseph Mallozzi says that SG-1 fans do not have to worry that "the show won't turn into Star Trek."

How cool would it be if the ship was Rasmussen's 29th Century time cruiser from TNG?

I can't believe those losers didn't put in at least one gratuitous shot of a Tholian ship. I guess they show up in the last five minutes of the episode...

When I read Steve's heading, the "the Borg Queen is back", I thought to myself that ENT had finally lost it! Bringing in the Borg and especially the Borg Queen would be the end of ENT and the producers would be officially out of ideas. That was a close one.

Momento was a great episode. It did feel like Star Trek, except that is was much better than your average Trek episode. It just serves to be an example of what Trek should be.

Also, when you watch it, listen to the music (by Joel Goldsmith). Like the scene where they unbury the Stargate. It's great. Why the hell can't Trek TV have music like that? I really would like to know.
