Typhon Station is a very fastpaced PBeM RPG with skilled, experienced players and a warm sense of bonding and community. We play at the turn-of-the-century, 2400, and are located in the Typhon Expanses, bordering the Neutral Zone, proximate to the Romulan Empire, and near the Iconian Digs, and are on the first warning route of the original Borg Incursion.
We have three stations to post from, SB 185, USS Odyssey, and USS Wraith. They all have general and particular storylines and all interact. This game is not for the faint of heart! The writing is superb and comes hot and heavy. We have some open spots and also we will consider character suggestions. So, longtime RPGers and novices, check us out. See if you want to make Typhon Station your home away from home.

The official STAR TREK web site has posted the first part of its convention report from the Creation Entertainment event in Seattle, WA this past weekend. This first installment features appearances by VOYAGER actors Ethan Phillips ('Neelix') and Robert Picardo ('The Doctor'), who entertained with jokes, songs and recollections from their time with the franchise. Phillips singled out two particular VOYAGER episodes that he found most challenging as an actor.

"Neelix has to face the fact that there is no afterlife," he recalled of the episode "Mortal Coil." "This is it? And then he has to realize, through the help of Chakotay, that okay, we have to make the best of our stay here, we still have to do the right thing... And understanding that he takes a leap forward, he evolves. The other was 'Jetrel,' where he had to face this guy who was basically his Hitler — his race's Hitler — and he has to forgive him. And that's a very tough moment for him, as it is for anybody who has to face somebody who's been toxic to them in their life ... He doesn't absolve him of his crimes, but he does forgive him, and then he's able to let go of that terrible pain that he's been carrying."

Picardo told the story of his audition process for VOYAGER, and the performance that may have won him the role of the prickly, nameless Emergency Medical Hologram.

"I'm convinced the reason they hired me was because, when I went in and read, I made a joke that was very much a Bones-ism, without even being aware that I was doing that," Picardo told the crowd. "At the end of my Voyager audition after my last scripted line — which was, 'I believe someone has failed to terminate my program' — I took a long, droll look at the 22 people watching me in the room, and said, 'I'm a doctor, not a nightlight! I think that one joke got me a nice seven-year job, and indeed is the reason I'm here today!"

You can read much more of the Part I report here, and look for more from the site later in the week.

Ive always liked the guy. How can you not.
Loved him in Innerspace and China Beach and Wonder Years.
He was one of the best things about Voyager.
I'd like to see him speak at a Convention but unfortunately he has yet to attend one in San Francisco. Sacramento area.
Bob are you listening?
Ive also read his own views of Enterprise, saying its basically a clone of Voyager with the girl in the tight outfit and the uptight Vulcan, etc and I couldnt agree more.

Jetrel couldn't be compared to Hitler - Jetrel wasn't a political leader. (Of course, the crowd supposedly wouldn't know who Joseph Mengele is had Ethan Phillips made this allusion more accurate.)

I can whip up an effective post in thirty minutes yet I can't write diddily squat for an in-class writing exam?
The next time Pikachu electrocutes you, remember - if it weren't for Jim Kirk, that rat wouldn't exist…

Robert was always a joy. Even though it became the Seven show, his depth, especially in the last couple of seasons was truly something to behold. I remember the one where he made a family. It was touching. He brought real emotion to the table.

As for poor Neelix. We do like to bash him don't we. I actually found his "darker" episodes to be quite good. Like Phlox now, it is easy to dismiss Neelix as being the annoying character he started out as. I enjoyed his serious shows, when he wasn't saying "Mr. vulcan".

Then there's Chakotay, but that's another story.
