The three navy honorees--Petty Officer Kathy J. Grant (Senior Sailor of the Year), Petty Officer James D. Frey (Junior Sailor of the Year) and Corpsman Thomas P. Hunt--were selected by an internal naval committee and invited by the STAR TREK production to have background guest spots in the show's fiftieth episode, "First Flight," directed by LeVar Burton. Actors Scott Bakula and Connor Trinneer along with Burton accepted a flag flown over the carrier earlier this month from the guests. Last year's "Sailors of the Year" appeared in the episode "Desert Crossing."
