Didn't we spring forward last weekend? If that's the case, then why is it fifty degrees in Florida today? Feels more like Rura Penthe (no I haven't watched the tape yet) than the Sunshine State. One word: unacceptable. (End rant).

Name That Van Halen Song of the Day
Yesterday's answer was DANCE THE NIGHT AWAY off VAN HALEN II. You'll hear it during the chorus and the entire solo is accomplished in this manner. This was (to my knowledge) the debut of Eddie's tapped harmonic technique, which also appears in the intros to both SPANISH FLY and WOMEN IN LOVE on the same album. You'll find it in many VH songs, such as the intro to GIRL GONE BAD on 1984 and the intro/outro to AFTERSHOCK on BALANCE. Remember, we're not talking two-handed tapping, which is that fast stuff you hear at the end of ERUPTION. Tapped harmonics are accomplished by rapidly tapping a string over the fret wire.

Yesterday's winner was, well, myself, for making such a hard question. But don't think of this as a losing situation; rather, it's been an educational opportunity.

Today we'll go back to something a bit easier. Complete the lyric and name the song: "Hey waitress, err ma'am, you got any specials here tonight, me and the fellas might be interested in?"

As for me, it's off to Texas Roadhouse for a nice steak. For the rest of you, all I can offer are...
