Started Arthur C. Clarke's FOUNTAINS OF PARADISE yesterday at the pool. Haven't really read much science fiction so I figure this summer is as good a time to start as any. So far it's pretty interesting, though I haven't gotten very far. Anyone have thoughts on this book?

Van Halen Song of the Day
Monday's winner was Stidham, with the complete lyric: Don't want no class reunion / Your circus just left town/ Why behave in public if you're livin' on a playground? . That's from "Fools" off WOMEN AND CHILDREN FIRST.

Today I thought, what the hell, let's try something different. At the risk of embarrassing myself more than usual, I have attempted to play a Van Halen riff into a crappy PC microphone and compressed it down to a 38k MP3 and embedded it here with Quicktime. I present, Van Halen Riff of the Day: name the song!

Ok, seriously, I know it's a crappy recording AND a short clip, but surely there is a Van Halen fan out there who can recognize that riff, as horribly as I'm sure I played it!
