STAR TREK: VOYAGER actress
Kate Mulgrew ('Kathryn Janeway') will join other Hollywood actors and activists in a series of New York performances meant to express peace. VOICES OF PEACE AND DISSENT FROM GROUND ZERO features a rotating slate of celebrities who participate in readings of oratory and literature that promote anti-war or peaceful messages.
The Worth Street Threater Company sponsors the show at the Tribeca Playhouse at 111 Reade Street, New York City. Mulgrew follows other celebs, including S. Epatha Merkerson or STAR TREK: INSURRECTION's own Donna Murphy, who have already or will in the future participate in the readings.
According to a press release, Oscar-winning actress Susan Sarandon will be appearing on Monday, June 16, 2003 at 8:00PM, while Mulgrew will appear on Monday, June 23, 2003.
Tickets are only $20.00 and are available through www.smarttix.com or by calling 212-868-4444, with proceeds going to the Peace Development Fund. For further information, visit the Worth Street Theater Co.
Mulgrew is the latest STAR TREK alumnus to take part in pro-peace theater performances. Shortly before the recent war in Iraq, ENTERPRISE actor Connor Trinneer took place in the Lysistrata Project to protest the use of military action (story).
