ST:DS9 Fourth Season DVD Details Announced, Plus Pre-Order Info

PROMENADE

Typhon Station is a very fastpaced PBeM RPG with skilled, experienced players and a warm sense of bonding and community. We play at the turn-of-the-century, 2400, and are located in the Typhon Expanses, bordering the Neutral Zone, proximate to the Romulan Empire, and near the Iconian Digs, and are on the first warning route of the original Borg Incursion.
We have three stations to post from, SB 185, USS Odyssey, and USS Wraith. They all have general and particular storylines and all interact. This game is not for the faint of heart! The writing is superb and comes hot and heavy. We have some open spots and also we will consider character suggestions. So, longtime RPGers and novices, check us out. See if you want to make Typhon Station your home away from home.

Paramount Pictures revealed yesterday the complete specifications for the upcoming DVD release of STAR TREK: DEEP SPACE NINE - THE COMPLETE FOURTH SEASON ON DVD.

The 7-disc set is scheduled for Region 1 release in the U.S. on August 5, 2003. The set will contain all 25 episodes of the series' fourth season from 1995-1996, including the 2-hour season premiere "The Way of the Warrior" which brought Michael Dorn's character of Worf from THE NEXT GENERATION to DS9.

All 25 episodes will be presented in their original full-frame format with English Dolby Digital 5.1 and 2.0 surround soundtracks.

In addition to the 2-hour premiere, DS9's fourth season include the Hugo-nominated episode "The Visitor"; the Ferengi's trip to 1940's Roswell, New Mexico in "Little Green Men"; the two-part Changeling story arc, "Homefront" and "Paradise Lost"; the annual "torture O'Brien" episode "Hard Time"; and the season finale "Broken Link", which ups the ante in the Dominion War.

The Season 4 DVD set will include the following bonus featurettes:

  • Charting New Territory: DEEP SPACE NINE Season Four
  • Crew Dossier: Worf, which will focus on Dorn's transition to DS9 and Worf's character growth through the series
  • Michael Westmore's Aliens: Season Four
  • DEEP SPACE NINE Sketchbook: John Eaves
  • Section 31 Hidden Files

In addition, BestBuy.com has revealed that they will offer an exclusive bonus disc with their sets featuring the following featurettes:

  • Bob Blackman's Designs of the Future: a look at costume designs for Bajorans, Cardassians, Ferengi, and alien visitors, including behind-the-scenes footage and rarely seen sketches
  • Jim Martin Sketchbook: a look at the meaning and evolution of many artistic designs for DS9, including rarely seen drawings of Ferengi props, starships, and alien vessels
  • DEEP SPACE NINE Chronicles from Seasons 1-4

You can pre-order the set and help support TrekWeb at Amazon.com.

whats the grief over more bonus material? Honestly? Is it because its an in-store special? Cause honestly, Best Buy and Suncoast sell these suckers for maybe 50 cents more than Wal-Mart does for the first week they've been released. Just about everywhere else isn't beating those costs... and Best Buy and Suncoast will give u the free disc. Whats the big problem? Rewind to the original Star Trek... hell, at least they're not putting only 2 eps on a disc any more.
