FilmJerk has revealed the first names of new characters to expect in ENTERPRISE's season premiere, "The Xindi," or beyond. Previous reports have indicated that the show would welcome a small contingent of military "commandos" onboard to help defend against the new alien threats and at least one of them is said to be a woman.

According to the site, 'McKenzie' is a "a young, tough and sexy girl soldier," though no information is yet available on the actress cast to play her. FilmJerk also reports that an alien named 'Orgoth' leads a band of pillagers onboard the NX-01 to steal weapons in the episode. Whether this refers to the season premiere or a subsequent episode is unknown.

Sources suggest that "The Xindi" contains as many as eleven guest roles, so more information about new charaters is on the way. That episode should wrap its nine day shoot today in Hollywood.

I think this is a step in the right direction to give the show more of a Sci Fi fill.
Not.

So where are the beefcake soldiers?
That couldnt be far behind.

But seriously, this prooves that the powers that be STILL think that the only way to bring in viewers is to titilate and thats why this show is failing, sexiness over well written characters.

Sheeshhhhh!

So now we have a sexy girl soldier -- further proof of the trend that B&B think you Trek fanboys dig the rough, tough, unsmiling dominatrix type.

Maybe T'Pol and McKenzie can go toe to toe against eachother.... Over Archer. Ahhhh the possibilities. Where would Trek be without the fruitful ideas that are contributed by Mr. Brannon Braga?? On second thought, don't answer that.

A "tough girl" soldier?

A hot girl that kicks ass? Well that's certainly not been done before.

This is the sort of exploitation of sexuality I would have never expected from the same series that brought us such thoughtful elements as naked decon gel rubdowns and padded catsuits.

Maybe she is the only woman out of 11 guest characters. Maybe she won't be turned too much into an object. The joke would be if McKenzie is Jeri Ryan! He heeh! ..But have no fear.

With all the Xindi (presumably visually interesting CGI aliens) I hope there will be time to develop these new characters along with the regular ones, and not for to forget: The rest of crewmates on the ship - just to a fair degree. It's going to be challanging for the writers! But as long as they take things one step at a time...

The transition from season 2 to 3 may be particulary "noticable" but when the waters have subsided, they may have a better setup for working out intriguing stories. Who knows. If they'll grab the interesting details they come along, and play with them in following episodes.

I'm sure they're working very hard to ensure season 3 is going to be high quality. They may have lost some potential in "The Expanse". I think the rushed episode was a sign of eagerness to change the show, and possibly not to avoid. I think, only a show with good ratings has the luxoury of time to avoid all hiccups.

Sexy commando...honestly they haven't done this much, as much as I hate to admit. They've done the unemotionless sex vixen twice, and Kira has a slight sexy commando vibe, but both aspects were sort of downplayed giving in favor of giving her an extra religious tilt.

What I'm concerned about is that they will introduce these characters like they just arrived on ENT. If they do, it will probably be the single biggest writing mistake on Star Trek. One big problem I had with Expanse was that the whole episode took like 7 or 8 months, and in that time we never meet the new crew members they picked up at Earth, or learn anything about "getting" new crew members. But they've been there this whole time.

Just reading that makes want to sufficate my face in a taco bell 7-layer barrito. Another "tough, sexy" chick? I mean come on that sucks. WHere is the creativity? I'm not at all excited for season 3, in fact I'm afraid.

Gives us something to wonder about like "A violently edgy private pile type who often crosses the border into meglomaniac rages" Or if they have to have another girl make it like "Dark depressed genius woman soldier who lives for the day because there is no tomorrow, tattoos, lots of scars" Give us a girl that is tough to like not another pin up.

And you know whats worse now? The writers couldn't handle the cast they had now they will have an even larger one, how is that supposed to work? I say they kill some people off, its not a dangerous mission unless a regular dies. I vote for Mayweather or Hoshi.

A sexy girl soldier! Oooooh! Maybe she'll bounce up and down the corridors of Enterprise in a tight tank top like every other sexy girl soldier in scifi wears... Maybe she'll be the one helping T'Pol explore her curiosity regarding "emotions"... Maybe she'll put the "XXX" in "Xindi..."

I see the budget for luminescent blue decontaminant gel just tripled.

The Typhon Expanse...where your the rules of physics don't apply, and your wildest fantasies await you. No wonder the Vulcans don't want to go there. It's the NAUGHTY! part of space...

I wonder if this McKenzie on Enterprise is related to Ard'rian McKenzie in the TNG episode "The Ensigns of Command".
