UPN released its 2003 fall schedule today, announcing that the network will try to get a jump on the rest of the season's new programming with an early start. Beginning Wednesday, September 10th, UPN will premiere its new schedule through September 16th according to
Zap2it. This puts the ENTERPRISE third season premiere, "The Xindi," on September 10th at 8 o'clock followed by the series premiere of JAKE 2.0.
This will be the earliest ENTERPRISE premiere, with "Broken Bow" bowing September 26th, 2001 and "Shockwave, Part II" airing on September 18th, 2002. Producer Rick Berman last year suggested that the early start may have hurt ratings for the season two premiere, but the performance apparently hasn't scared the network away from an even earlier preemptive strike this season.

In related news, Viacom has announced today that TNN will officially make the switch to Spike TV on August 11, according to an article at ProWrestling.com.
Viacom announced today that it would debut the new station on a Monday since that's the best day for a targeted audience to get the word out. Spike TV is nearly two months late due to the injunction brought about at the 11th hour by director Spike Lee just before its debut in June. Lee and Viacom recently settled their dispute, allowing TNN to officially change its name to Spike TV.
Spike TV will premiere with a party taped at the Playboy Mansion featuring Pamela Anderson and a 2-hour WWE special.
The official website SpikeTV.com is now back online, though it still re-directs to TheNewTNN.com.
TNN has been the home of reruns of THE NEXT GENERATION and some of the STAR TREK feature films, and will be the home of reruns of DEEP SPACE NINE in 2004 and VOYAGER in 2006, according to the original plans.
