  • Susanna Thompson ('Borg Queen', 'Lenara Kahn') has joined the feature film ROSE AND THE SNAKE, while Stephen Collins ('Decker') has signed a deal with the WB to remain with 7TH HEAVEN for at least two more years.

  • StarTrek.com reports that George Takei ('Sulu') recently accepted a $25,000 donation on behalf of the Los Angeles Conservancy's Last Remaining Seats program, which is dedicated to historica preservation of L.A. architectural and cultural heritage.

  • StarTrek.com reports that Rene Auberjonois ('Odo') is running for a Screen Actor's Guild board seat, while Robert Duncan McNeill ('Paris') is seeking re-election to his seat.

  • Chase Masterson ('Leeta') will chair Mania Entertainment's 4-day ManiaFest in Santa Monica, CA September 18-21.

  • Patrick Stewart ('Picard') and Whoopi Goldberg ('Guinan') will lend their voices to a new live action/CG feature called RACING STRIPES, about a baby zebra who grows up thinking it's a race horse.

  • Chemistry.org reports on the development of handheld DNA detectors, "an eco of the fictional tricorders featured in STAR TREK."

  • Robert Beltran ('Chakotay') will play the lead in THE BIG KNIFE onstage in Hollywood beginning in November, according to the actor's official web site.

  • The Digital Bits has suggested that releasing ENTERPRISE on DVD immediately may help spur a larger audience for the struggling show.
