Pocket Books executive STAR TREK editor
John Ordover has announced that he is leaving the publisher after spending eleven years tending the final frontier in print. Writing in a post at
TrekBBS, Ordover says he's starting his own new firm to begin branching out from the TREK universe, although he will continue to work in space for the immediate future.
"My first client is, perhaps unsurprisingly, the STAR TREK Department at Pocket, for which I will continue to work on the A TIME TO series, the NEW FRONTIER books, and other titles such as STRANGE NEW WORLDS as well as occasionally developing new projects for the department," he writes. "Working this way will give me the freedom to pitch projects outside of STAR TREK to both Simon and Schuster and other publishers."
Ordover's book packaging outfit is currently being called High Concepts. He says his title will be Executive Producer, High Concepts.
