The Kelsey Grammer sitcom FRASIER will continue its synergistic relationship with the STAR TREK franchise in this, its eleventh and likely final season. According to the
Patrick Stewart Network, the ST:TNG captain filmed a guest role on the show this week. Titled "The Doctor Is Out," the episode will most likely air during the November Sweeps period.
Grammar himself is part of TREK history as 'Captain Morgan Bateson' of the Starship Boseman in the popular TNG episode "Cause and Effect." Most recently, ST:DS9 actor Rene Auberjonois ('Odo') played the recurring role of Frasier's former collegiate mentor, and Brent Spiner ('Data') appeared as an airplane passenger last season. Frasier producer Dan O'Shannon contributed the story for ENTERPRISE's "Carbon Creek" and actor Dan Butler, who plays 'Bulldog' on the sitcom, once guested on VOYAGER's "Vis a Vis."
FRASIER, also shot at the Paramount lot, has frequently taken friendly jabs at the STAR TREK franchise. The character 'Noel' is a devout STAR TREK fan who tends to lean a little off the deep end. Last season, Noel tried to get Frasier to procure a Scott Bakula ('Archer') autograph for him because a restraining order prevented him from doing so.
