Berman and Braga Reveal Major Plot Points, Temporal Cold War Not Forgotten (SPOILERS)
PROMENADE

Speaking in a brief piece published today at TV Guide, producers Rick Berman and Brannon Braga let loose about upcoming plot twists in the ENTERPRISE's season three arc.

"In an alternate future, the Xindi have reduced Earth to a cinder," explains Berman. "It's one of these wonderful stories where something has to be corrected in the future to right things in the present."

Braga goes on, saying the temporal cold war arc from the first two seasons will most certainly tie into the new Xindi storyline.

"We have some major revelations," Braga teases, "coming up later in the season about our future guy and the Xindi's future guy, because they have one, too. Whether or not we will reveal their identities, we haven't gotten that far yet."

The magazine, in its "Returning Favorites" issue now on newsstands, also says that the debut of the WB's popular SMALLVILLE, which premieres October 1st opposite the STAR TREK prequel, could spell ratings disaster for the space series. A tale of two FutureGuys

The presence of two FutureGuys has me thinking that the principal opposing factions of the TCW are future versions of the Federation and the Romulan Empire.

The Suliban's FutureGuy is from a rogue faction of the Federation(Section 31?), he wants to ensure that the Federation survives. Remember that when Archer was pulled from the timeline, FG was plucked out of existence. He wanted the Klingon Empire out of the way so the Federation could be stronger.

The Xindi's FutureGuy is Romulan. He wants Earth out of the picture, because of its central role in the forming of the Federation. Without the Federation the Romulan Empire would have an almost undisputed hold on the Alpha Quadrant. With all the Federation worlds under their control, they would have a stronger Empire that could easily handle the Cardassians, Breen, and Dominion.

The TCW would segue into the Romulan War when both FutureGuys realize that the RW is like Judgment Day from T3: an event so big that it WILL happen no matter what they do.

Looks like they are going to get creative with time travel. This is an idea that scientists have postulated for years, yet few--if any--sci fi schows have tried to do it. The idea of cause and effect, where the effect occurs before the cause is something that quantum scientists love...and to tell you the truth, it would make for get story telling.

Shouldn't Berman mean that something has to be corrected in the PAST to right things in the present?
Or am i the one who is mistaken?
